Finding District Times in the newspaper archive

The District Times of the Southern Highlands and Tablelands was a regional newspaper associated with Marulan in the 1990s. Its history is distinct from this new digital publication.

Wingecarribee Public Libraries lists District Times microfilm holdings for 1993–1996 at Bowral Central Library. Those are the dates of the listed holdings; they should not be treated as proof that every issue survives or as a complete account of changes to the publication.

The newspaper sits in a collection that also includes Highlands Post, Moss Vale Post and other district titles. The library says the microfilm items are not for loan. Contact the library before visiting to check access arrangements and the issues needed for your research.

When following a local story, note the title, issue date and page number. That makes a later correction or comparison possible and helps distinguish a contemporary report from a memory written years afterwards.

Today's District Times is published by Mafia Publishing as a regional directory, classifieds publication and noticeboard. The old title helps explain the name and geographic interest; we do not claim continuous publication from the 1990s or ownership of the historical issues.
